At the beginning of 2012, following the displacement of enormous crowds in Aleppo, a group of young volunteers decided to conduct door-to-door visits to support the most vulnerable families. With time, they became more and more implicated in humanitarian work, as well as consultants for several NGOs. Today, SARD consists of 80 humanitarian volunteers and carries out initiatives in the northwest of Syria in partnership with a variety of local and international humanitarian organizations. Fifty-thousand families benefit from their support each year, whether it be by receiving food, housing, or psychosocial assistance.
